By car:
Motorway A1 . Exit: Orte, then Orte-Viterbo speedway E45. Exit Viterbo
Aeroporto-Terme, (first exit after Viterbo Nord), then follow indications for Viterbo
Centro (downtown), Ospedale (Hospital) or San Martino al Cimino. For those
staying downtown Viterbo (Balletti Palace Hotel or B&B), please follow
indications for Viterbo Centro (downtown)
By plane:
From Rome Fiumicino Airport: train to Roma Trastevere (30-45 min.). Then
train to Viterbo Porta Romana (see below for further details).
By train:
From central Station Roma Termini: train to Roma Ostiense OR metro line A to
Valle Aurelia. Then train to Viterbo Porta Romana (see below for further
details).
In
order to reach the meeting place and hotels, please check the train
timetable on the web site http://www.trenitalia.com/ by introducing as
departure station, either "Fiumicino Aeroporto" or "Roma Termini", according
to your starting point. As arrival station please introduce "Viterbo
Porta Romana" and not
Viterbo Porta Fiorentina as originally indicated. Note that a train change
is necessary in Roma Trastevere or Roma Ostiense (indicated in the
timetable).
An
alternative from Roma Termini station is to take the metro line A to Valle
Aurelia and, from there, take the train to Viterbo Porta Romana.
The train ticket must be purchased
in advance for the entire trip and needs to be stamped before riding the
train at the stamping machines located close to tracks.
Please, note that the LAST TRAIN to
Viterbo from Rome arrives in Viterbo Porta Romana at 11.22 p.m. and leaves
from Fiumicino Aeroporto at 8.57 p.m. (needs a change in Roma Trastevere);
from Roma Termini at 9.40 p.m. (needs a change in Roma Ostiense), or at 9.47
p.m. from Rome Valle Aurelia.
Participants are kindly requested to
inform us about the time of arrival in Viterbo Porta Romana Station, since a
shuttle service (direct to the hotels) will be available on Sept. 7.
When preparing your trip, please
take into account that on Sept. 7 evening, a welcome reception is scheduled
at 8.00 p.m. |
