XV EUCARPIA GENERAL CONGRESS
"GENETICS AND BREEDING FOR CROP QUALITY AND RESISTANCE"

Viterbo -Italy, September 21-25th 1998

Invitation

It is with great pleasure that Italy and Viterbo play the host to the XV Eucarpia General Congress, which all Eucarpia members as well as people interested in plant genetics and breeding are invited to attend.
As in the past, Eucarpia General Congress is the most competent plant-breeding forum, where experts from all over Europe may gather to discuss and exchange views and contributions.

This first circular aims at providing participants with a general information on the scientific programme and related activities, as well as on logistics and purely organisational aspects. The Organising Committee looks forward gathering your feed-backs, so as to organise a successful event.

General information

EUCARPIA is the European Association for Research on Plant Breeding established in 1956. It aims to promote scientific and technical cooperation in the field of plant breeding, in order to contribute to the progress of agricultural production.

Scientific Programme

The topic of the XV Congress will be GENETICS AND BREEDING FOR CROP QUALITY AND RESISTANCE. The Congress programme schedule comprises Keynote Lectures (K), Session presentations, Poster and Poster Synthesis (S) for the different Sessions covering a wide spectrum of topics in different areas of the Congress central theme.

The XV Congress aims at giving the most recent information on these topic of major interest from both basic and the applied points of view.

I look forward to welcoming you in Viterbo
